Summary Of Role The Account Manager is responsible for working with Advisors/Client Executives and Account Executives to service client accounts. The role requires day-to-day client servicing for a specific set of clients and involves substantial verbal, electronic and other written communications. You will manage the renewal and marketing process and prepare materials for presentations and communications in collaboration with more senior team members. You will develop relationships with clients and carrier contacts and work proactively to deliver services to clients. In addition to managing your own clients, you will support the Account Management Team as assigned. This is a full-time position with a hybrid schedule; at least a couple of days a week in our Plainview-Long Island, NY or Midtown Manhattan or Warrington, PA offices. Office presence is required to foster collaboration and career connections.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Works proactively to develop relationships with carrier and client contacts; take active role in meetings.
Prepare and send requests for proposals to applicable insurance carriers and document results; prepare first draft of renewal presentation.
Lead on reviewing proposals and carrier source documents for accuracy in collaboration with the Account Executive or Advisor/Client Executive. Communicate directly with clients and carriers, with approval from the Account Executive or Advisor/Client Executive.
Maintain accurate documentation and a follow-up system to ensure policies, endorsements and other information are received to comply with requests.
Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and clients through regular contact.
Collaborate with Advisors/Account Executives on communications to keep clients apprised of industry trends and events, including state and federal regulatory issues.
First line of answering billing questions from clients and insurance company personnel with assistance from Accounting Dept. when necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, And/or Abilities
Must be able to work from one of the listed offices at least two days a week.
When working from home, maintain a private workspace to secure company equipment and correspondence; maintain high-speed internet, stay present and responsive online, and minimize personal interruptions during work shifts.
Experience with EPIC or related agency management system.
Excellent written communication skills—writes clearly; edits for spelling and grammar; adapts writing style to meet needs; presents numeric data effectively; able to read and interpret written information.
Self-confident to make sound independent decisions; able to interact with a variety of people/personalities.
Strong leadership and negotiation skills; possess technical expertise plus good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to handle situations in a calm, courteous and professional manner; flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, deadlines and technology.
Education And/or Experience
More than 3 years of industry and Commercial Lines Insurance servicing is preferred.
Recent experience at a retail insurance brokerage or independent insurance agency required.
BA/BS preferred. High school diploma or equivalency required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration
Property & Casualty Broker's License required upon hire.
