Terrorism & Political Violence Senior Underwriter
We are looking to employ a Terrorism & Political Violence Senior Underwriter to be based in our New York office and to work with us on a full-time basis. Role Purpose
To develop a market leading domestic and multinational standalone Terrorism and PV proposition providing unique access to our global network and providing differentiated and innovative solutions to our larger account customers. To influence, implement and achieve underwriting profit goals in Terrorism and PV risks in accordance with business plan. To ensure underwriting integrity through appropriate deployment of capacity whilst working within Chubb's underwriting guidelines and controls. Be consistent in approach towards risk selection, pricing and use of capacity whilst recognizing and responding to market conditions. Key Responsibilities:
Underwrite new business and renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines, specified budget and local business plan. Develop underwriting strategy, manage forecasts and portfolio management in order to achieve underwriting profitability. Ensure quality control within defined area of responsibility by undertaking quantitative underwriting reviews and peer reviews. To work closely with underwriters in other lines of business across the Chubb N.A Property to maximize cross sell opportunities. Close coordination and strategic alignment with our Chubb UKI in response to the international flow and placement preferences of our large clients. Prioritize and develop products within area of specialist expertise to improve client retention and new business. This may involve collaborating with peers within and across business lines in the US as well as globally. Represent and promote Chubb corporately to brokers, internal and external clients domestically and overseas. This may involve servicing key producers and clients, monitoring business acquisition and retention. Meet company standards in respect of policy documentation, timeframes for quoting new and renewal business and compliance rules. Work within the framework of Chubb ethical and service standards. Comprehensive understanding and experience of underwriting Terrorism and Political Violence Extensive experience of the US domestic standalone market including key knowledge and relationships within the domestics brokers A good working knowledge of Multinational Underwriting, the insurance market and competitors. Experience of dealing with brokers and clients. Results driven with ability to make own decisions and work on own initiative. Adaptable and resilient to changes in market conditions and business requirements. An experienced professional who is recognised externally. Excellent attention to detail with experience using complex pricing and risk selection tools. Experience of training, mentoring and people development is desired. Continues to develop technical and broader business skills. The pay range for the role is $114,600 to $194,800. The specific offer will depend on an applicant's skills and other factors.
