Raymond James Private Market And Alternatives Sales Representative

Contacts assigned customer accounts or prospects to sell company products within a designated geography or industry. Focuses on meeting personal sales targets, new business development, maintaining customer relationships, and troubleshooting specific customer problems. Has a solid knowledge of products, their characteristics, and market. Typically requires a good general education, excellent interpersonal skills and sales experience. Individuals assuming this role will be responsible for representing the Raymond James Private Market and Alternatives platform to financial advisors and clients, with the ultimate objective of driving departmental sales and increasing overall penetration of the advisors in the firm that are employing products and strategies offered on the AI platform. Such strategies include but are not limited to Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Non-Traded REIT's and BDC's, Interval Funds, and concentrated equity strategies. This role will support departmental objectives through a combination of reactive and proactive phone support, as well as in person meetings with financial advisors and/or clients. Represent AI and facilitate educational sessions at firm or department conferences. Maintain the product knowledge required to appropriately educate advisors and clients on the various complex products and strategies available on the AI platform. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Demonstrates a commitment to the firm's core values. Provide balanced education on the complex products and strategies on the AI platform in a manner designed to drive sales but also consistent with the conservative nature of the firm. Maintains market and product knowledge required to appropriately educate advisors and clients serving as a subject matter expert for the complex products and strategies on the AI platform. Assists financial advisors in educating clients on the benefits and risks associated with the various complex products and strategies on the AI platform through general education, product specific education, and support on specific client cases. Provide reactive strategy and product-related phone support. Serve as a primary point of contact for financial advisors contacting AI for product and strategy related support. Work with External Consultants, Directors, and others to identify, schedule, and ultimately conduct face to face meetings with financial advisors to discuss opportunities available on the Alternative Investments platform and how those opportunities integrate within the advisors' established investment framework. Deliver effective presentations to large audiences that may include financial advisors, clients and other professionals that participate in servicing the financial needs of clients (attorneys, certified public accountants, etc). Represent the AI platform at RJ and department conferences, recruiting "home office visits", and client "by invitation only visits". Meet specific objectives related to proactively contacting financial advisors to discuss the products and strategies available on the Private Market and Alternatives platform. Initiate, develop, and lead sales and marketing campaigns that are aligned with the organizational vision and strategies for growth. Prepares presentations for inclusion on intranet website and/or in person delivery to financial advisors and branch management. Contribute to department wide initiatives that require team input (sales and marketing strategies, marketing campaigns, creation of marketing collateral, evaluation of effectiveness of existing resources, etc.) Organizes, manages, and executes on objectives with minimal oversight, a strong attention to detail, a high level of professionalism, and with appropriate timeliness. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Knowledge of: Advanced knowledge of complex products and strategies offered on the Alternative Investment platform including but not limited to Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Non-Traded REIT's and BDC's, Interval Funds, concentrated equity strategies. Competitive landscape (i.e., Alternative Investment platforms of other wealth management firms). Principles of banking and finance and securities industry operations. Micro and Macro economics and their impact on investment strategies. Financial markets, products, financial advisory function, and investment process. MS Office applications. Skill in: Identifying the needs of customers through effective questioning and listening techniques. Cultivating and maintaining effective working relationships at all levels of the organization. Organizing, managing, and tracking multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment. Preparing and delivering clear, convincing and professional sales presentations to small and large audiences. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Critical thinking and problem solving sufficient to effectively analyze, research, and resolve inquiries and issues in a timely manner. Analyzing business processes and identifying process improvement opportunities. Operating standard office equipment and using required software application to produce correspondence, reports, electronic communication, and spreadsheets. Ability to: Demonstrate uncompromising adherence to ethical principles. Existing (or an ability to quickly acquire) knowledge required to appropriately educate on the complex strategies and products offered on the Alternative Investments platform. Represent the company in a highly professional manner. Organize, prioritize, and manage tasks and projects to complete work efficiently. Provide a high level of customer service, and address and resolve escalated advisor and client issues. Use appropriate interpersonal styles and communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing, with all organizational levels to accomplish objectives and convince others to accept ideas or goals. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members, internal partners, and external parties, and promote internal team cohesiveness, cooperation, and effectiveness. Partner with other functional areas to accomplish objectives. Assimilate and prioritize strategies into operational guidelines. Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Establish clear directions and priorities. Educational/Previous Experience Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in business, finance or a related discipline and a minimum of five (5) years' experience in the financial services industry.
