Summary
The Plant Director is accountable for providing leadership and innovative management of the resources allocated to the plant in Jackson, TN. They are responsible for achieving annual and long-term objectives which will allow the Division to reach its goals for profitability and growth. The Plant Director must develop strategies and tactics aligned with the overall direction and consistent with our expectations for Safety, Quality, People, Delivery, Inventory, and Cost management.
Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to achieve a “Zero and Beyond” culture, eliminate all injuries, and position the plant as a good community partner through Corporate Social Responsibility efforts.
- Lead and direct all plant operations to meet performance goals through superior leadership and delegation/mentoring of departmental managers.
- Analyze overall operation performance and drive continual improvement to achieve year-to-year productivity improvements, optimal inventory levels and turns, and superior delivery performance.
- Act as the standard bearer for Operational Excellence philosophies, driving continuous improvement to eliminate waste, improve day-to-day operations, and empower all associates with a culture of excellence.
- Demonstrate a passion for Talent Management by hiring and developing the best associates and leaders in the industry in both hourly and salaried ranks.
- Manage labor and employee relations in accordance with federal/state law and corporate policies, ensuring pay rates, promotions, demotions, and terminations are applied consistently and with due process.
- Review Capex, Opex, and material/facility usage to ensure cost-effective plant operation. Recommend and approve major purchases of equipment, material and supplies for the facility.
- Provide direction and lead the preparation of the Plant annual business plan and budget. Set objectives for all departments consistent with meeting business plan/metrics.
- Collaborate with sales and product management to optimize customer relations and plant productivity.
- Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications/Must Have’s
- Bachelor’s degree
- Engineering degree, master’s degree and/or belt certification a plus
- 8 – 10 years of manufacturing management experience
- Project management experience
- Proven ability to work in a team setting
- Geographic flexibility a plus
