Job Summary

The Director of Customer and Business Operations – Audio Tech will provide strategic and operational leadership for customer operations and business operations within Bose’s Audio Technology Licensing Division. This role is accountable for designing, scaling, and optimizing end‑to‑end operating models that support licensing growth, partner success, and long‑term business sustainability. The Director will also design, develop, and deploy customer operations (contracting, implementation, billing) and business operations for the Audio Technology business unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the end‑to‑end operating model for customer and business operations across the Audio Technology Licensing portfolio, spanning contracting, onboarding, implementation, billing, reporting, and support.
  • Translate licensing strategy and growth objectives into scalable processes, systems, and governance frameworks that enable efficient partner execution and revenue realization.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering and Program Management to continuously improve implementation processes and methodologies.
  • Set the vision and standards for customer‑facing operational processes, ensuring best‑in‑class partner experience from contract execution through ongoing engagement.
  • Establish operating mechanisms to proactively manage partner health, account risk, compliance, and revenue accuracy.
  • Create and lead the design and building of the business operations and related technology stack that supports the growth strategy and related program initiatives.
  • Lead the design and development of customer‑facing processes from contracting through support.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and status reports.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (business development, product management, engineering, legal, business services) to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
  • Conduct client meetings to gather requirements, provide updates, and address concerns.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues throughout the program.
  • Ensure all project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.
  • Manage key operational aspects of technology licensing relationships including account risk review, account setup, SKU creation, and customer volume/revenue reporting.
  • Conduct project retrospectives to gather stakeholder feedback and drive process improvements.
  • Identify future capability needs and help shape the long‑term organizational design for Customer & Business Operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in business or customer operations, project management or implementation roles.
  • Demonstrated experience building and scaling operating models in a B2B, licensing, technology, or platform‑based business.
  • Proven ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, JIRA).
  • Problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting or partnering with technology licensing, platforms, or IP‑driven businesses.
  • Relevant project management certification.
  • Experience in audio technologies.
  • Familiarity with HubSpot, JIRA, SharePoint, and Confluence.

Compensation

The hiring range for this position in the primary work location of Framingham, Massachusetts is $205,300–$282,250. Other locations may vary. In addition to competitive base pay, the role offers rewards including bonus programs, comprehensive health and welfare benefits, a 401(k) plan, and a generous employee discount.
