
Our small national trade association is seeking an experienced contract Executive Director to provide leadership, strategic guidance, and operational oversight. The ideal candidate will have executive-level experience with a construction industry trade association, strong labor-management relations skills, and a solid understanding of the union construction industry, including multiemployer benefit funds.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Board of Directors and leading strategic and administrative functions.
- Managing association operations, compliance, governance, and reporting requirements.
- Serving as primary liaison with labor partners and overseeing labor-management initiatives.
- Representing the association in industry, regulatory, and public-affairs settings.
- Monitoring industry issues, regulatory changes, and labor trends affecting members.
- Overseeing financial planning, membership services, meetings, and programs.
This is an independent contractor role with flexible structure. Compensation and scope of work will be decided in a negotiated services agreement.
Qualifications:
- Executive, or C-level, leadership experience in a construction-industry trade association.
- Strong labor-management relations background.
- Knowledge of union construction practices, collective bargaining, and multiemployer funds.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently on a contract basis as well as oversee other independent contractors who support the organization.
- Law or master's degree preferred.
