
Director of Business Development – Dedicated Transportation (DCC) – Southeast Region

The Opportunity
Our client is a market-leading transportation company seeking a high-performing Director of Business Development to lead growth in their Dedicated Contract Carriage (DCC) business across the Southeast U.S. This is a regional leadership role , perfect for someone with strong market knowledge, existing shipper relationships, and a proven track record in dedicated fleet solutions.
This is a high-impact, senior role offering the chance to influence regional strategy, own the full sales cycle, and work closely with operational teams to deliver tailored dedicated transportation solutions.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Drive new business growth for DCC services across the Southeast region
- Identify, qualify, and close complex, multi-year dedicated fleet opportunities with large and mid-market shippers
- Build and maintain strong executive-level relationships within Transportation, Supply Chain, and Procurement functions
- Partner with operations, pricing, and implementation teams to ensure profitable and scalable solutions
- Own the regional go-to-market strategy , including market analysis, lane density optimization, and customer segmentation
- Represent the company at industry events, customer meetings, and trade forums
Who We’re Looking For
- 7+ years of transportation sales experience, with a focus on Dedicated Contract Carriage (DCC)
- Proven success selling dedicated fleets, private fleet replacement, or hybrid solutions
- Deep understanding of the Southeast transportation market , including shipper needs, labor considerations, and lane dynamics
- Existing shipper relationships across the Southeast are highly preferred
- Experience structuring multi-site, multi-year transportation agreements
- Strong financial acumen and ability to present ROI-based solutions to senior stakeholders
- Willingness to travel regionally as required
Preferred Background
- Based in Charlotte, NC or another major Southeast city (Atlanta, Nashville, Raleigh, Tampa, Jacksonville, etc.)
- Experience with a large asset-based carrier or leading dedicated provider
- Self-starter comfortable operating independently in a senior, revenue-generating role
