The position reports directly to the Executive Director (ED), Global Value, Access & Pricing (GVAP), Solid Tumors (ST) Lead, and is responsible for developing GVAP strategies across the Solid Tumor portfolio for pipeline assets under the supervision and approval of the ED, GVAP, Lead, Solid Tumors.
Responsibilities
Director, GVAP, Solid Tumors Pipeline responsibilities include:
- Provide critical strategic insights and guidance to ensure pipeline assets meet future market access needs and maximize commercial potential.
- Identify market access-related evidentiary gaps in clinical development plans that could affect reimbursement, population labeling, or sustainably supported pricing.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with relevant stakeholders to develop recommendations to close gaps and/or generate evidence that would optimize reimbursement and pricing potential.
- Estimate the impact of different clinical development scenarios on access and price potential; disseminate GVAP analysis and recommendations in coordination with the ED, GVAP, Lead Solid Tumors.
- Support portfolio prioritization exercises.
Essential Functions
Pipeline Market Access Strategy Development:
- Lead the creation and implementation of global pricing and market access strategies for ST pipeline products (typically Phase II and III), aligning with clinical and commercial goals.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate access requirements into development processes, influencing trial design, endpoints, and evidence generation to meet payer needs.
- Lead collection and aggregation of regional feedback and develop recommendations regarding clinical development and evidence generation based on that feedback.
- Represent the GVAP ST perspective to governance or oversight bodies (aligned with Regions/focus markets and HEOR).
Value Proposition & Evidence Generation:
- Develop early value propositions that resonate with global payers and support future pricing, reimbursement, and access decisions.
- Work with Clinical, Medical Affairs, and HEOR teams to shape clinical trial design and evidence-generation strategies aligned with target market access requirements.
- Identify and prioritize evidence gaps; work with HEOR to develop health economic models, burden-of-illness studies, and other data to address payer concerns and enhance product differentiation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- If delegated by the ED, GVAP ST, serve as the primary market access contact for one or more GPTs.
- Collaborate with R&D, Commercial, Medical Affairs, and Regulatory Affairs to ensure access-related insights and payer needs are integrated into the overall development strategy.
- Provide input into clinical decisions and Business Development to ensure payer requirements are recognized, addressed and/or additional evidence generated to support the commercial strategy.
- Engage with focus markets and regional access teams to ensure early alignment on access strategies and local adaptation for market needs.
- Align on early asset target product profile definitions and evidence required, as well as planned value proposition to reduce pricing and reimbursement uncertainties across regions.
Pre-Launch Preparation:
- Drive pre-launch planning for pipeline products, including early value toolkits and JCA-relevant PICOs and early engagement strategies to optimize future access and reimbursement.
- Support market access launch readiness through regular communication, training, and support to regional and affiliate teams preparing them to engage with payers as the product nears market entry.
- Support regional activities relating to regional asset in-licensing for early pipeline products.
Market Insights & Competitive Landscape Analysis:
- Continuously monitor the solid tumor landscape, competitor activities, evolving payer requirements, and regulatory changes impacting access and reimbursement.
- Analyze payer insights, pricing trends, and market conditions to inform strategy adjustments and refine access plans.
- Use global and regional insights to refine value propositions and enhance product positioning as the product advances through clinical phases.
- Lead early pipeline consultations with payers across all regions (in collaboration with regions/focus markets) (e.g., CADTH, NICE).
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- No direct supervision; high level of cross-functional and pan-regional collaborations with internal stakeholders.
Computer Skills:
- Standard computer skills
Education:
- BA/BS degree required; MA/MS or higher preferred.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree with 10+ years of related pharmaceutical experience; at least 5 years in global/regional/local Market Access; pipeline/early development and JCA preparation experience is a strong advantage.
- Deep experience in market access and payer engagement within oncology, with ability to develop and deliver value toolkits for regional and affiliate teams.
- Understanding of global pricing & reimbursement landscape, including regional pricing guidelines, HTA and national reimbursement requirements.
- Strong understanding of regional pricing requirements and ability to manage complex cases and address objections.
- Knowledge of health technology assessment methods/health economics modeling is beneficial.
- Ability to work across cultures and multiple functions; strong analytical and communication skills.
- Strategic thinking, initiative, organization, prioritization and planning skills.
- Fluency in English; second language is an advantage.
- Customer focus in cross-functional collaborations; strong leadership and presentation skills across commercial and finance teams.
- Interpersonal skills to synthesize data into clear commercial strategies and plans.
- Expertise in global market access value models (value-based propositions, cost-effectiveness models, etc.).
- Ability to execute projects in a timely fashion.
Travel:
- Approximately 15% of time.

Salary Range: $183,700.00 - $243,700.00 annually
