Americas Head of Commercial Valuation & Strategy – Credit Solutions

Role within the Americas region leading commercial valuation and strategy for Credit Solutions, reporting lines to the Americas & EMEA Head of Sales, Credit & Risk Solutions. Part of the C&RS leadership team driving strategic growth and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities And Impact

  • Lead complex, high-value sales negotiations and strategic deal structuring across Americas markets, driving revenue growth through client acquisition, contract negotiations, and multi-million-dollar deal closures.
  • Design and execute advanced sales strategies and commercial valuation frameworks, with direct P&L accountability for revenue targets, pipeline management, and client portfolio expansion in competitive enterprise markets.
  • Drive strategic sales negotiations with C-suite executives and senior decision-makers to identify, structure, and close transformational growth opportunities including market expansion, product development initiatives, and go-to-market optimization.
  • Lead high-stakes contract negotiations and commercial discussions with enterprise clients, ensuring optimal deal terms, pricing strategies, and long-term partnership agreements that maximize revenue and client value.
  • Conduct sophisticated market analysis, competitive positioning, and sales opportunity assessment to identify and capitalize on emerging revenue opportunities in credit risk management and financial technology sectors.
  • Orchestrate complex sales cycles and strategic planning processes including annual business planning, territory optimization, and resource allocation decisions to maximize sales performance and commercial impact.

As Americas Head of Commercial Valuation & Strategy – Credit Solutions, you will champion the integration and growth of S&P Global’s flagship credit intelligence platforms, ensuring clients gain actionable data to manage risk and drive performance.

RatingsDirect — Premier platform for accessing S&P Global Ratings credit research, ratings, and commentary. Enables clients to monitor rated entities, sectors, and markets in real time, supports informed decision-making and portfolio risk management. Provides advanced analytics and customizable dashboards for deep credit analysis.

RatingsXpress — High-performance data feed delivering S&P Global Ratings content directly into client systems. Supports quantitative models, risk frameworks, and automated workflows for enterprise-scale operations. Ideal for high-frequency trading, regulatory compliance, and credit risk assessment.

CreditPro — Comprehensive historical database of ratings performance, default studies, and transition analysis. Empowers clients to benchmark credit risk, validate internal models, and enhance stress-testing capabilities. Critical for regulatory reporting, capital adequacy planning, and strategic risk management.

Strategic Impact

  • Drive adoption of these solutions across Americas markets, positioning them as essential tools for credit risk professionals, asset managers, and financial institutions.
  • Collaborate with product, technology, and client teams to identify new use cases, expand market penetration, and deliver tailored solutions aligned with evolving client needs.
  • Leverage these offerings to structure transformative deals, enhance client value, and accelerate revenue growth.

Compensation/Benefits Information

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $124,192 to $205,000. Final base salary will be based on geographic location, experience, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

What We’re Looking For

Basic Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Economics, or related field with 10+ years of progressive experience in senior sales leadership, complex deal negotiations, business development, or commercial strategy roles.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills with demonstrated success in structuring and closing complex, high-value enterprise sales deals in B2B financial services or technology sectors.
  • Outstanding leadership and communication skills with proven ability to influence and negotiate with C-suite executives and senior stakeholders to consistently exceed revenue targets.
  • Global sales and negotiation experience with a deep understanding of international markets, cross-cultural negotiation strategies, and complex deal structures across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Experience with digital transformation sales initiatives, technology-enabled commercial solutions, and advanced sales methodologies including consultative selling and value-based selling approaches.
  • Deep expertise in credit risk management, financial markets, or regulatory compliance sectors with an established network of senior industry relationships and track record of successful high-value negotiations.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (such as Salesforce), deal management software, and financial analysis platforms (such as Excel or Power BI).
