Director of Business Development – New Construction

Join Ecolab as a Director of New Construction Business Development within our Nalco division supporting the Global High Tech (GHT) segment. The role leads a team of Business Development Managers across GHT North America, develops the GHT growth strategy, supports identification and development of new business opportunities, forges strategic partnerships, and expands Ecolab’s market presence. This includes creating and implementing strategies to achieve revenue targets and fostering long‑term client relationships.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve organizational goals and objectives
  • Monitor and evaluate performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and drive success
  • Analyze data to inform decision‑making and optimize business strategies
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to maintain a competitive edge
  • Manage and coach a team of high‑performing Business Development Managers (BDMs)
  • Track project and BDM sales progress relative to sales targets and goals
  • Drive sales of new innovation products
  • Maintain and achieve zero safety incidents for the team
  • Interact with internal company departments to resolve issues and speed sales processes and timelines
  • Strategize account and sales focus for the team
  • Network and develop business relationships with general contractors, mechanical contractors, and design engineers
  • Support new construction projects in the continental USA

Position Details

  • Candidate must reside within a commutable distance of a major US airport
  • 50% overnight travel required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience
  • 10 years of sales experience in new construction environments with a proven sales track record, including performing design consulting, project takeoffs, quoting, and technical submittals
  • 5 years of sales management experience
  • Valid US driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Immigration sponsorship is not available for this role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, industrial) or life sciences (biology, chemistry, etc.)
  • Data center design and construction experience, working with design engineers and mechanical contractors
  • Water treatment or specialty chemical industry experience

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range

The base salary range for this position is $141,300.00 - $211,900.00. This position is eligible for annual bonus and long‑term incentives based on performance, per plan terms. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
