
This is a remote position that requires residency in the TX area and hospital experience. The Director role supports hospitals in the South regions (TX, AR, KY, OH, GA) and can also be located within the South Region. Must have Labor Productivity Management, Finance and Healthcare experience.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
The Operations Performance team develops and implements staffing standards, productivity guidelines, labor budget targets, and other benchmarking tools to improve the fiscal and operational well‑being of CommonSpirit Health.
- Develop and implement staffing standard practices, productivity management guidelines, and labor budget target settings.
- Provide consulting services that drive operating efficiencies and significant cost reductions.
- Identify and implement improvements for consistent labor cost management across 40+ hospitals and affiliate sites.
- Direct management engineering and consulting services, deliver project work, training, and reporting to improve quality and efficiency.
- Lead initiatives to reduce labor costs, currently exceeding $1.5 billion annually for 35,000 FTEs.
Job Requirements
Minimum qualifications:
- 7+ years of hospital management engineering or management consulting with at least 5 years in a managerial role demonstrating impact on cost reduction, revenue enhancement, quality improvement, and system implementation.
- Experience in labor productivity and labor cost reduction.
- Teaching or mentoring experience in productivity measurement, monitoring, and improvement.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Health Systems (Industrial) Engineering, Engineering Management, Finance).
- Master’s degree preferred.
Special Skills Required
- Expertise in healthcare productivity management and labor cost management.
- Knowledge of benchmarking, TQM/CQI tools, cost accounting, and financial management.
- Strong problem‑solving, personnel management, and project‑management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities.

Pay Range
$76.36 – $113.58 per hour
