The Senior Director of Physical Security is the senior corporate official overseeing physical security for Honeywell. This role is responsible for driving operational effectiveness and ensuring the safety of all of Honeywell’s employees, facilities, and executives. The ideal candidate is well‑versed in providing proactive protection capabilities, oversight of multi‑national locations, and management of our Global Security Operations Center. The position has high visibility with Honeywell executives and other key stakeholders, including our company‑wide resiliency plan. We are looking for someone passionate about security who can drive processes to meet both business objectives and security requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a multi‑year strategy for protecting Honeywell’s employees and facilities
- Provide demand planning and prioritization, specification and deployment for new services and operational support oversight for physical security services and projects supporting Honeywell’s Strategic Business Groups
- Run a world‑class Global Security Operations Center, providing both proactive threat analysis and notification and incident response, partnering with the cyber, health/safety, IT, supply chain, and resiliency centers of excellence across Honeywell
- Provide executive protection services for Honeywell’s principal and key executives
- Drive technical strategy for building security systems across facilities spanning the globe
- Oversee all physical guards and security controls required to protect our facilities and employees
- Provide duty of care security services, ensuring the safety of employees both at home and while on the road, when travelling to high‑risk locations, and during emergencies
- Provide security project support for all Honeywell business groups as required by the business
- Drive company‑wide workplace violence awareness and prevention programs
- Ensure that all business activities are performed in a secure, safe and compliant manner, meeting all Honeywell internal and external standards and controls for physical security
- Establish appropriate security metrics to measure the success of the security program and highlight trends from raw data
- Leverage internal and external benchmarking to identify leading industry practices to drive continuous improvement for Honeywell Global Security
Qualifications
The annual base salary range for this position varies by location. For Washington and most major metropolitan areas in New York & California, the range is $185,600 – $245,000. Salary is variable based on scope and responsibilities, candidate experience, education, training, key skills, market and business considerations.

You Must Have
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the physical security space
- Knowledge of physical security technology systems
- Strong familiarity with real estate related physical security systems
- Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills, high emotional intelligence
- Exceptional communication skills
- 5 or more years of experience in multi‑level management of employees and contractors
