Tri Pointe Connect – Vice President of Capital Markets

This position is hybrid working out of the Scottsdale Operations Center.

Position Summary

The Vice President of Capital Marketing is responsible for leading the company’s secondary mortgage strategy, including loan pricing, hedging, investor execution, and delivery performance. This executive will oversee the sale of mortgage loans into the secondary market, optimize execution across investors and aggregators, and manage pipeline risk to support profitability, liquidity, and operational efficiency. The role requires deep knowledge of mortgage markets, strong investor relationships, and proven execution discipline across volatile interest rate environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the company’s secondary marketing strategy, including pricing, hedging, and loan sale execution
  • Oversee daily and long‑term management of the mortgage pipeline to optimize best execution and manage interest rate risk
  • Establish and maintain pricing strategies aligned with market conditions, margin targets, and investor guidelines
  • Lead loan sale execution across whole loan, correspondent, and agency channels as applicable
  • Manage investor relationships, approvals, and performance scorecards
  • Oversee hedging strategies and tools to mitigate pipeline fallout and market volatility
  • Monitor and analyze secondary market trends, rate movements, investor behavior, and competitive pricing
  • Partner closely with production, lock desk, capital markets operations, and finance to align pricing, execution, and profitability goals
  • Ensure compliance with investor guidelines, agency requirements, and regulatory standards
  • Oversee delivery, purchase advice reconciliation, and post‑sale issue resolution
  • Prepare and present secondary marketing performance reporting, margin analysis, and market commentary to senior leadership
  • Identify and manage secondary‑market‑related risks, including fallout, pair‑offs, and investor exposure
  • Support strategic initiatives related to product expansion, investor diversification, and channel growth
  • Mentor and manage secondary marketing, lock desk, or capital markets team members as applicable

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field (MBA preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in secondary marketing, mortgage capital markets, or mortgage finance
  • 7–10+ years of leadership or management experience
  • Proven track record of managing mortgage loan pricing, hedging, and investor execution
  • Extensive experience working with agencies, aggregators, and institutional mortgage investors
  • Builder‑affiliated, correspondent, or consumer‑direct mortgage experience a plus

Skills

  • Deep knowledge of mortgage secondary markets, investor guidelines, ad agency execution
  • Strong understanding of mortgage regulations and investment guidelines
  • Extensive knowledge of loan origination systems, and secondary marketing platforms (Encompass, Optimal Blue/Black Knight)
  • Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills
  • Deep understanding of capital markets
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Pricing strategy, margin management, and best‑execution analysis
  • Pipeline risk management and hedging strategy expertise
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills
  • Exceptional communication and investor relationship management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast‑paced, rate‑sensitive environments
  • Disciplined execution with strong attention to detail and controls

Physical Requirements

  • May be sedentary for extended periods, up to 4 hours
  • Visual acuity for detailed computer work
  • Using fine motor skills for tasks requiring precision such as typing
  • Hybrid work environment
  • After hours/weekend, as needed

Location

Position is hybrid (not fully remote) and located in Scottsdale, Arizona
