
Overview
An experienced pharmacy leader is sought for a contract position as Interim Director of Pharmacy / Pharmacy Consultant at a 325-bed community hospital in Midland, GA. This role requires a proactive and strategic approach to operational leadership, staff development, and regulatory compliance within a dynamic hospital pharmacy environment.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include partnering with the hospital's Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to guide daily pharmacy operations and advance strategic priorities. The role demands leadership in coaching pharmacists, technicians, and support personnel, ensuring medication management is safe, effective, and compliant with all relevant regulations including DEA, USP, and state standards. You will also lead initiatives in performance improvement, medication safety, expense control, workflow optimization, and regulatory survey readiness.
Additional duties involve spearheading projects in clinical services, purchasing optimization, formulary standardization, revenue cycle management, and staff professional development. Collaboration with hospital executives, medical staff, and interdisciplinary teams is essential to achieve the hospital\'s and departments goals.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years recent/current experience as Director of Pharmacy in a larger hospital setting
- Active Georgia pharmacist license
- BLS certification or willingness to obtain
Schedule and Location
- Monday to Friday, day shifts
- Located in Midland, GA
- Contract duration: 13 weeks+ with an ASAP start date
