Jones Networking is recruiting for a Director of Supply Chain to join the Sterling, VA corporate office of a global food manufacturing company. The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for leading and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain operations within a food manufacturing environment. This role oversees procurement, production planning, inventory management, logistics and distribution to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness and compliance with food safety and regulatory standards. This role aggressively pursues strategies for continuous improvement in cost reduction, supply management, material planning and integration of supply chain elements. Director of Supply Chain Position Summary

  • Develop and implement long-term supply chain strategies aligned with business growth.
  • Manage and optimize the supply chain, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and sales teams to align production schedules with demand forecasts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
  • Collaborate with teams across operations, quality assurance, and finance to drive supply chain excellence
  • Oversee sourcing strategies for raw materials, packaging, and indirect goods.
  • Monitor and analyze logistics performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery targets are met.
  • Ensure all supply chain activities comply with food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA, HACCP).
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and internal teams.

Qualifications Summary

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Food manufacturing experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain principles, practices and technologies.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations, sustainability practices, and ERP systems.
  • A strong understanding of supply chain management, vendor partnerships, manufacturing operations, quality assurance and food safety within a multi-unit manufacturing environment,
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality systems.
