We are excited to present an exceptional opportunity for a Program Director to lead and develop the new Family Medicine Residency Program at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center. This role is central to the growth of Graduate Medical Education (GME) in Florida, as we prepare to launch a Family Medicine residency program with the goal of welcoming our first cohort in July 2027.
Program Director – New Family Medicine Residency Program
This position offers the chance to establish a GME program on Florida’s West Coast, significantly impacting the community by training the next generation of physicians and advancing our mission to provide the highest standard of care and positive patient outcomes. The role combines direct clinical practice, leadership, teaching, and administrative responsibilities.
Position Highlights
- Fully responsible for the Family Medicine Residency Program, ensuring a supportive and effective educational environment conducive to resident development in all ACGME competency standards.
- Initial workload 10‑16 hours per week in a consulting capacity, with an opportunity for clinical practice. Once Initial Accreditation is achieved, transition to 0.5 FTE as Program Director, with remaining time dedicated to clinical practice.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certification: Must be board certified by ABFM/AOBFM, with specialty expertise.
- Preferred: At least 3 years of experience in an FM residency program as Core Faculty, Associate Program Director, or Program Director, with a proven track record in educational and/or administrative roles.
- Minimum 3 years of recent documented experience in an accredited GME program.
- Leadership & Education: Demonstrated leadership skills, strong background as both an educator and clinician, recent history of scholarly activities or research.
- Communication & Teamwork: Strong communication abilities and a commitment to delivering collaborative, high‑quality care.
