Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Executive Director located in Gaffney, SC. The Executive Director will oversee the operations and programs of the Cherokee County History Museum. Key responsibilities include strategic planning, fundraising, budget management, overseeing staff and volunteers, fostering community partnerships, and ensuring the museum's mission is fulfilled. The role requires the ability to represent the museum effectively to stakeholders, donors, and the public.
Qualifications
- Management and leadership skills, including staff and volunteer coordination, organizational skills, and strategic planning.
- Fundraising and financial management skills, including budgeting, grant writing, and donor relationship management.
- Community engagement and partnership-building experience, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders and the public.
- Knowledge of museum practices, including exhibit development, educational programming, and historical collections management.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
- Passion for history, education, and cultural preservation.
- Previous experience in a nonprofit or cultural institution setting is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in History, Museum Studies, Nonprofit Management, or a related field is highly desirable.
