Salary

Salary is commensurate based on qualifications and relevant experience. Pay Basis: Monthly.

Annual salary range: $70,000 to $74,000. Final offer based on candidate’s experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.

Job Summary

The Program Director is responsible for managing TRIO Student Support Services Program (SSS). Coordinate delivery of services leveraging University infrastructure in the Division of Student Success while adhering to federal regulatory standards for TRIO SSS.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Program Management & Compliance:
    • Executes objectives of awarded grant narrative. Adheres to all federal, state, and institutional policies, regulations, processes, and procedures for the project.
    • Responsible for budget management in collaboration with Business Operations Manager.
    • Manages student records, program documentation, and program evaluation as outlined in the grant application.
    • Responsible for the completion of grant proposals and reports.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • Hire, supervise, train, and evaluate staff.
  • Student Recruitment and Development:
    • Assist with the identification and selection of eligible participants; advise SSS participants.
  • Collaboration:
    • Align program delivery and practice standards with other work in the Office of Student-Ready Initiatives.
    • Partner with the Academic Success Center to deliver tutoring obligations.
    • Represent the Division of Student Success in support of first‑generation endeavors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Five (5) years of experience working with grant programs, coaching, mentoring and or advising students or related experience; or nine (9) years of an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or six (6) years’ experience working with grant programs to support historically underserved populations.
  • Experience with grant management and writing.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience with personnel supervision, developing and monitoring budgets, preparing program reports and conducting program evaluation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Evidence of strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of grant policies and regulations; ability to exercise judgment with interpretation of and compliance with Federal and University regulations.
  • Knowledge of college student development, financial aid programs, career decision making, assessments and processes for responding to participant needs with available resources.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff and students from various backgrounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Organizational abilities – planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Critical thinking, decision making and problem-solving skills.
