
This associate will contribute to high‑stakes patent and trade‑secret litigation across federal courts, the ITC, and PTAB proceedings. The role involves drafting filings, conducting research, supporting case strategy, and working closely with senior attorneys on complex technical matters. Description Provide legal counsel and representation on complex intellectual property matters, particularly in the technology and engineering sectors. Draft, review, and negotiate IP-related agreements, including licensing, joint ventures, and technology transfer agreements. Conduct patent prosecution, including drafting and filing patent applications. Advise clients on IP strategy, including portfolio management and risk assessment. Assist in litigation matters involving intellectual property disputes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address client needs effectively. Stay updated on changes in IP law and provide insights to clients and team members. Support business development initiatives within the legal department. Profile A successful candidate should have: A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Admission to the California State Bar or eligibility for admission. 2-4 years of experience in patent and/or trade‑secret litigation. Strong research, writing, and communication skills; ability to work independently. Entrepreneurial mindset with initiative, drive, and a strong work ethic. Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a similar technical field (preferred, not required). Excellent academic credentials; admission to the Bar in the office's state required.
