Halfdays is hiring a strategic, analytical, and brand-driven Director of Global Merchandising to lead our next phase of product growth. This role owns end-to-end global merchandising strategy across categories, ensuring assortment architecture, pricing, and seasonal storytelling drive revenue, margin, and long-term brand equity across regions and channels.
Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, this leader connects product, design, planning, marketing, e-commerce, and wholesale. They will shape seasonal line plans, scale core franchises, unlock whitespace, and ensure every product decision supports company-level objectives and global growth ambitions.
The ideal candidate brings 8–10+ years of merchandising experience in performance, active, outdoor, or premium DTC brands, with strong financial acumen and the ability to balance data, consumer insight, and storytelling.
Responsibilities
Own end-to-end global merchandising strategy with a P&L and growth mindset
Align product, design, planning, marketing, e-commerce, and wholesale around clear objectives
Build scalable merchandising frameworks and processes to support domestic and international growth
Define global assortment architecture across core, seasonal, capsule, and collaboration products
Travel domestically and internationally as needed
Seasonal Line Planning & Category Strategy
Lead global seasonal strategy, line planning, and product briefs in partnership with design
Partner with planning on SKU productivity, pricing architecture, and margin strategy
Develop balanced global growth strategies grounded in performance data, regional insights, and consumer segmentation
Drive capsules, collaborations, and limited drops to create urgency, acquisition, and brand heat
Protect and scale core franchises while accelerating innovation and whitespace
Consumer & Trend Insights
Conduct competitive, cultural, and global trend analysis to inform product direction
Translate qualitative and quantitative insights into clear assortment strategy and product briefs
GTM Partnership
Partner with marketing to deliver compelling, technically authoritative GTM storytelling
Align product and marketing from brief through launch to ensure cohesive, product-rooted messaging across regions and channels
DTC & Retail Optimization
Partner closely with the e-commerce merchant to optimize digital assortment, site revenue, and customer experience
Monitor sell-through, conversion, and inventory productivity to iterate quickly
Lead in-store visual merchandising strategy to ensure brand consistency and conversion
Wholesale Strategy
Collaborate with wholesale to define domestic and international channel segmentation and complementary growth strategy
Develop curated assortments and strong selling tools for key partners
Qualifications
8–10+ years of merchandising experience in performance, active, outdoor, or premium DTC
Strong financial acumen across pricing, margin, and SKU productivity
Proven ability to build commercially strong, brand-forward line plans
Deep understanding of global assortment architecture and consumer segmentation
Experience leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, growth‑stage environment
Strategic, organized, and confident communicator
Bonus: Experience scaling a DTC brand through international expansion or building merchandising infrastructure from the ground up.
