Develop and implement a comprehensive Christian education curriculum for all age groups.
Recruit, train, evaluate, and support volunteer teachers and leaders for various educational programs.
Oversee the organization of Sunday School classes, Bible studies, Spiritual Boot Camp, and other educational activities for children, youth, and adults.
Coordinate the Festival of Ministries, Annual Ministries Appreciation Gala, Vacation Bible School, workshops, seminars, and any other special religious education events.
Work with church leadership to align educational programs with the church’s mission and vision.
Create and manage the Christian education budget and the expenditures, ensuring proper allocation of resources.
Evaluate all educational units of the church and select educational materials and resources that align with church doctrine.
Develop new programs and initiatives to meet the evolving needs of the congregation.
Communicate regularly with the Pastor, Christian Education church leaders, parents, and congregants to provide updates on educational programs and activities.
Other duties and responsibilities as determined by the Pastor.
Maintain adequate records of Christian Education expenses and Church School enrollment and attendance.
Serve as Chairperson for the Ministry Team Leaders
Complete quarterly and annual reports for the Pastor.
Meet with members as needed for advisement on Christian Education issues/concerns.
Utilize conflict resolution strategies with members and leaders, as needed, to facilitate unity.
Christian Education Director Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Christian Education, Divinity, Theology, Religious Studies, or a related field such as Administration and Supervision.
Previous experience in Christian education or a related field.
Strong demonstration of maturity and high ethics.
Strong leadership, administrative, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with church leadership and volunteers.
Experience in developing and implementing educational programs.
Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices within Christian education.
Proficiency in using educational technology and multimedia resources.
Deep understanding of and commitment to Christian faith and teachings.
Previous teaching or educational program management experience.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work well with a diverse group of people, including children, teens, adults, and church leadership.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
Ability to develop a long-range plan for the Christian Education area that includes age groups and all levels of spiritual formation.
Ability to coach, encourage, evaluate, and nurture the leaders of the various age-target ministries (i.e., Youth Ministry, Children’s Ministry, Adult and Older Adult Ministries).
