
Commercial Loan Officer
The Commercial Loan Officer is responsible for increasing bank assets by soliciting, developing, and managing credit relationships with agricultural and commercial loan customers. This includes handling all types of commercial and agriculture loans while ensuring exceptional customer service, portfolio growth, and adherence to the bank's lending policies. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, proactive in building relationships, and skilled at identifying opportunities to cross-sell additional banking products. Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through a structured calling program. Identify opportunities to cross-sell MNB products to deepen customer engagement. Achieve loan production goals as outlined in the bank's budget. Manage loan portfolio growth, minimize portfolio runoff, and maintain strong credit quality. Ensure timely loan renewals and accurate loan documentation. Monitor loan portfolio performance, including balances, concentrations, yields, and new opportunities. Maintain delinquencies within acceptable limits and mitigate risk through proactive oversight. Ensure portfolio yields and loan rates remain aligned with bank guidelines. Apply thorough knowledge of bank loan policies and procedures. Efficiently obtain and process loan applications. Conduct timely loan analysis, make sound credit decisions, and secure necessary approvals. Prepare and present loan proposals to supervisors, committees, or the Board of Directors. Handle denied applications with professionalism, respect, and empathy. Meet customer deadlines for loan closings and information requests. Respond promptly to customer inquiries and phone calls. Represent the bank at community events to build visibility and foster goodwill. Actively participate in business and agricultural organizations and networking opportunities. Provide timely reporting to Senior Management as required. Collaborate with loan processing departments to meet compliance and processing deadlines. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Agriculture, or related field (preferred). 3-5 years experience in commercial and/or agricultural lending. Strong understanding of credit analysis, loan structures, and lending regulations. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills. Demonstrated initiative with the ability to develop new business opportunities. Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and representing the bank's mission.
