JOB SUMMARY We are looking for a team player to join the Chiefs in-house creative team. In this role, you’ll wield words for our portfolio of brands on projects including scripts, social, radio reads, stadium events, Chiefs games, web, email, and more. An ideal candidate will be full of ideas, a grammar expert, and a strong collaborator who brings creativity, curiosity, and commitment to supporting the brand voice of one of the premier teams in the NFL.

Responsibilities

Write. Must be able to provide options and iterate on scripts, captions, headlines, and more.

Ideate. Campaign-level thinking and ideas will be required throughout the year.

Present. Must be able to explain your reasoning and communicate strategically.

Proofread. Take an editor’s eye to writing that does not come from the creative team and improve it.

Manage creative requests simultaneously from across the Kansas City Chiefs organization from start to finish.

Assist creative team and take direction as needed.

Assist social team with captions during several Chiefs games throughout the season (could include Thursday nights, Saturdays during preseason and late season, Sundays, and/or Monday nights).

Requirements

Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience is preferred. Please note that this is not a summer internship—the intent is for this role to persist through the entire NFL season.

A portfolio is required in order to be considered for this opportunity. Please submit past and current work in either a PDF document or provide a link to your website. An online portfolio is strongly preferred.

Brand management. Must understand how to write within a brand voice.

Deep understanding of proper grammar rules (and when to break them), syntax, vocabulary, and punctuation.

Individuals must possess strong conversational, written, and visual communication skills.

Location or relocation within commuting distance of 1 Arrowhead Drive. While we have some WFH flexibility, this is an in-person role.

Must have a working knowledge of the following Microsoft Office programs: Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
