
SUMMARY
The F&B Sales Manager is responsible for driving group dining revenue across Grand Sierra Resort’s restaurant outlets while also managing catering sales for small market segments (e.g., social events, local corporate meetings, sports teams, and SMERF groups). This hybrid role blends proactive sales, client relationship management, and event coordination to ensure seamless guest experiences and revenue growth. They will generate new business opportunities in the community by proactively networking at local events as well as participating in the Sales department lead referrals and inquiry programs with a goal of generating qualified sales prospects that convert to definite bookings to ensure revenue goals are achieved or exceeded. This position will help develop and implement plans for sales initiatives to support the mission of GSR and report on the results of the sales activity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Plan & develop business for group dining within the GSR restaurants.
Responsible for the management and planning of restaurant events and related activities.
Assist with booking recreation events in Bowling, Kingpin VIP Bowling, and Crossfire Bar and Grill by managing HubSpot and various other leads related to these areas.
Conduct site inspections and foster new relationships with clients to grow the market for GSR.
Work with Marketing to create and maintain the following items: a web page that generates restaurant group dining leads; a Frequently Asked Questions link on the web page and ensure it stays up to date; an appealing Group Dining Creative that can be included in all local marketing collateral and the GSR website.
Work with restaurant chefs to create restaurant group dining menu options.
Set up and monitor phone numbers and emails that make it easy for restaurant group diners to connect with GSR.
Assist Casino Marketing leadership with annual player development events.
Respond to sales leads generated from multiple sources: RSCVA, Cvent and Web Inquiries.
Assist in development, creation, and execution of new sales strategies that support the vision of the GSR owners and management team.
Act as a liaison between the Group’s booking agent and restaurant management.
Create, run, and analyze new and existing reports and data on relevant sales opportunities to help design a strategic plan, solicit business and provide recommendations to Senior Leadership on business decisions to maximize revenue. Identifies long-term opportunity areas to improve sales and operations.
Maximize a group’s revenue by referring available goods, services, attractions, and sub-contractors to perspective dining groups.
Plan major travel functions (i.e. trade shows, sales calls).
Maintain a minimum standard of 15 prospecting calls (including in person visits to local businesses and community events) per week to new and existing accounts for future group business.
Sell and service small restaurant events.
Leads Group Dining Order meetings with restaurant leadership and staff.
Meet or exceed pre-determined productivity goals, including revenue goals, in accordance with predetermined Incentive Plan.
Work with Finance on maintaining all of the data that pertains to GSR restaurant Group dining.
Assist in setting priorities, hitting deadlines, shaping deliverables, and communicating these items into results that can be understood and acted upon.
Maintain an on-going relationship with colleagues, hotel staff, and current and past clients.
Ensure the proper use of function space and restaurants and that all conventions adhere to company policies, fire department regulations, state liquor laws and other applicable government regulations.
Participate in the Annual/Quarterly Sales Plan Incentives.
Any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Knowledge of property operations, banquets, and food service.
Team-based selling experience.
Working knowledge of Delphi.
Strong communication skills both written and oral with the ability to plan and implement action plans.
Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with business contacts and team members at all levels of the company.
Strong attention to detail and presentation skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products: Project, Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher and Outlook.
Ability of complex reading, writing, and simple math, task completion skills is required.
Must have the following skills: clerical, coordination, analyzing, instructing, following instructions, influencing others, problem solving, memorization, independent judgment, and decision making.
Flexible working all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED is required.
2 years’ experience in sales, marketing, guest services, front desk, or related professional area with 1 year experience in sales, and a thorough knowledge of restaurant operations is required, or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
Must be able to maintain appropriate Driver’s License, Gaming License, & Alcohol Awareness card.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently sitting, standing, and walking during the duration of their shift.
Must be able to lift/carry up to 50lbs.
The team member will occasionally have to drive.
Constant use of vision abilities is required including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision.
