Position Overview The Council on Aging of Buncombe County is seeking an innovative, enthusiastic, and experienced Executive Director to lead strategy, community impact, and long-term sustainability for a dynamic and highly respected nonprofit serving older adults in Asheville and throughout Buncombe County.

Key Responsibilities
Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction aligned with the organization’s mission
Partner closely with the Board of Directors to ensure strong governance and long-term sustainability
Oversee organizational operations, financial management, and staff leadership
Strengthen community partnerships and serve as a visible ambassador for older adults in Buncombe County
Lead fundraising, resource development, and external relations efforts
Ensure programs and services effectively meet the evolving needs of older adults
