Job Title Account Director (Merch & Apparel Sales Representative)

Classification Full-Time, Exempt

Compensation Commission-based with high earning potential dependent on performance

Reports to VP of Sales

Schedule Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm (occasional evenings/weekends as needed)

Location In-Office (no remote), 5000 N Basin Ave., Portland, OR 97217

General Summary The Merch & Apparel Sales Representative is an enterprise-focused role designed for a high-performing B2B sales professional who thrives on developing larger accounts and multi-channel merchandise programs. This position goes beyond transactional sales. You will act as a strategic advisor to enterprise clients, helping them build branded merchandise ecosystems that include corporate apparel programs, event merchandising, promotional product campaigns, kitting, fulfillment, and online company stores.

The ideal candidate brings strong new business development capabilities, understands margin management, and can collaborate cross-functionally to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and grow an enterprise-level book of business within branded merchandise and decorated apparel.

Identify and target mid-market and large accounts through strategic prospecting, networking, referrals, and vertical-focused outreach.

Build long-term relationships with marketing teams, procurement departments, HR leaders, and brand managers.

Consult with clients to understand brand strategy, campaign objectives, employee engagement initiatives, and budget parameters.

Design scalable merchandise programs including screen printing, embroidery, promotional products, corporate uniform programs, event merchandise, kitting and fulfillment solutions, and online company stores and inventory management programs.

Partner with sourcing, estimating, project management, creative, and production teams to develop cost-effective, margin-focused solutions.

Execute pricing strategy to ensure profitability targets are achieved.

Drive repeat program business and position Premier Press as a long-term strategic merchandise partner.

Forecast pipeline activity and manage sales performance against revenue and margin goals.

Ability and willingness to travel dependent on client needs.

Requirements Minimum Experience and Education Required

A Bachelor’s Degree and/or progressive experience as an account director or sales representative.

5+ years experience in branded merchandise, promotional products, and/or decorated apparel sales.

Skills & Qualifications

Entrepreneurial mindset with strong accountability and work ethic.

Proven track record developing mid-market or enterprise-level accounts.

Experience selling corporate programs, uniform programs, event merchandise, or multi-location branded initiatives.

Strong understanding of apparel sourcing, vendor management, and decoration methods (screen print, embroidery).

Demonstrated ability to maintain margin and structure profitable programs.

Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and organizational skills.

Reliable transportation required. Willingness to use personal vehicle for work-related travel and errands. (Mileage reimbursement will be provided in accordance with company policy.)

CRM proficiency required.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint with a main emphasis in Excel.

Additional Details Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment with frequent collaboration across sales, creative, sourcing, and production teams. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
