We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to support a large healthcare management system used by nursing homes across Australia and New Zealand. The role focuses on stabilizing, optimizing, and consolidating complex SQL Server databases, with future migration to PostgreSQL.
Responsibilities:
Analyze and consolidate existing database structures.
Optimize stored procedures and query performance.
Ensure database stability, performance, and data integrity.
Support database operations during system merge.
Implement indexing and performance improvements.
Plan backup, recovery, and disaster management.
Collaborate with development teams.
Contribute to migration strategy (SQL Server PostgreSQL).
Document database architecture and changes.
Requirements:
6+ years of DBA experience.
Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
Advanced T‑SQL and stored procedures expertise.
Performance tuning, indexing, and execution plan analysis.
Experience with large, complex, legacy databases.
Backup, restore, and disaster recovery knowledge.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Good English communication.
Nice to Have:
PostgreSQL migration experience.
AWS/RDS experience.
Schema refactoring experience.
CI/CD for databases.
