The Purchasing Agent plays a critical role in managing the procurement process to ensure that the organization acquires goods and services at the best possible cost, quality, and delivery terms. This position involves evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and maintaining strong vendor relationships to support operational efficiency. The Purchasing Agent will collaborate closely with internal departments to understand their purchasing needs and align procurement strategies accordingly. By monitoring market trends and supplier performance, the agent helps mitigate risks and optimize supply chain continuity. Ultimately, this role contributes to the organization's financial health and operational success by ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or related field preferred.

Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles.

Strong understanding of procurement processes and vendor management.

Proficiency with purchasing software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related discipline.

Experience in the 'Other Services' industry or a similar service-oriented sector.

Familiarity with contract law and regulatory compliance related to procurement.

Certification such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP).

Experience using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

Responsibilities:

Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.

Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts with vendors to secure advantageous agreements.

Process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services to meet organizational needs.

Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and plan procurement activities accordingly.

Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance for reporting and auditing purposes.

Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and risk mitigation.

Resolve any issues related to delayed shipments, quality discrepancies, or billing disputes.

Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations throughout the procurement process.
