Remote Work This is a remote-first role based anywhere in the United States. Preference given to candidates local to the Beaverton, Oregon, area for occasional in-person collaboration.

Food waste is one of the biggest global issues of our time. More than a third of the world’s food is wasted. And one of our biggest opportunity zones is the foodservice and hospitality industries, where an estimated 28% of global food waste occurs.

Reducing food waste is a financial, sustainability, and moral imperative. We’re currently looking for a talented and highly motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) that thrives in a mission-driven, complex, and competitive sales environment.

The BDR will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. This role will be responsible for scheduling qualified appointments, performing product demos, and managing a deal pipeline to close. You must be comfortable making many calls a day, creating awesome emails that prompt response, generating interest and excitement with our prospects, qualifying incoming leads, analyzing and mining Salesforce, and being tenacious about hitting—and exceeding—activity-based sales metrics to drive revenue.

Primary Tasks & Responsibilities

Achieve high performance to monthly/quarterly sales targets

Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails

Qualify enterprise prospects using the BANT approach to generate deal pipeline for sales directors

Manage personal lead pipeline from initial outreach to closed won

Research accounts, identify key players and generate interest

Maintain and expand our database of prospects

Understand customer needs and requirements

Own SalesForce maintenance, including: record keeping, proposal creation, and prospect follow-ups

Other duties as assigned

Required Education & Experience

Undergraduate degree or equivalent

At least 1 year of directly applicable inside sales/BDR experience

SaaS experience

Proven success meeting/exceeding quota objectives

Preferred Experience

Experience selling smart on-premises equipment with embedded analytics, powered by cloud services

Experience successfully selling sustainability solutions

Experience working with or for a mission driven enterprise

Experience with Salesforce and Apollo

Food Services industry experience a plus (but if you don’t have it, we can immerse you)

Outstanding verbal, written and presentation skills

Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively

Strong phone presence and experience dialing dozens of calls per day

Proficient with corporate productivity and web presentation tools

Experience working with Salesforce.com or similar CRM

Superior interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills

Excellent critical thinking skills

Positive attitude, ambitious, motivated with a passion to “win”

Flexible and adaptable, effective “problem solver” comfortable with high growth environments

Ability to empathize with our client organizations' challenges and find creative solutions to accelerate their food waste reduction efforts

Entrepreneurial, creative and have good general management/business acumen

Independent self-starter capable of working with a remotely located supervisor, and with a strong commitment to teamwork

Adept at communicating value propositions via phone, web-based presentations and in person
