Remote (priority for candidates based in New York or California)
The Sr. Specialist Growth Automation will provide temporary backfill coverage for a key marketing operations role, focusing on end-to-end messaging solution execution across email and related channels. This position is ideal for an experienced marketing technologist who can quickly ramp up, work independently, and own complex deployment workflows in a fast-paced environment.
Role Overview In this role, you will lead the planning, build, and deployment of marketing and compliance messaging campaigns, ensuring that critical global communications are executed accurately, efficiently, and on time. You will translate strategic requirements from marketers into robust technical solutions, implement and test campaigns (primarily email), and apply experimentation and analytics to continually optimize performance and user experience.
Key Responsibilities
Own and manage email deployment projects, serving as a primary execution lead and coverage for core team members.
Build, configure, and launch email campaigns using HTML and internal/proprietary tools, with the ability to adapt to various ESPs (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze).
Collaborate with marketers to refine campaign requirements, clarify objectives, and finalize intake for messaging initiatives.
Design and document custom and experimental messaging solutions that align with growth and engagement strategies.
Develop and QA messaging templates (email, and potentially push/in-app) using HTML/CSS and template scripting languages (e.g., Liquid, Handlebars).
Conduct self-QA and peer-review QA to ensure campaigns are deployment-ready and free of defects.
Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) with marketing stakeholders for custom solutions and ensure feedback is incorporated.
Monitor deployments post-launch to quickly detect and remediate potential issues, coordinating with product and engineering partners as needed.
Support global commerce, identity, research, and compliance messaging, ensuring solutions meet functional and regulatory requirements.
Use experimentation frameworks (e.g., A/B tests) to optimize messaging performance and minimize bias in test design.
Leverage analytics tools, reporting, or direct queries (SQL a plus) to measure impact and integrate insights into future solution design.
Maintain high-quality documentation, including solution designs, runbooks, and post-campaign learnings.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (marketing, research, engineering, product) across time zones and cultures.
Be available for on-call support during critical launches, as needed.
Must-Have Qualifications
3+ years of experience in marketing operations, marketing technology, analytics, or a closely related applied role.
Strong, hands‑on HTML skills specifically for email coding (mandatory).
Working knowledge of messaging best practices across email (required) and familiarity with push/in‑app messaging.
Experience working with at least one enterprise ESP or messaging platform (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze, Adobe, or similar).
Applied experience with template scripting languages (e.g., Liquid, Handlebars) for dynamic content and personalization.
Ability to work autonomously, prioritize independently, and ramp up quickly in an existing ecosystem.
Demonstrated experience executing experiments (e.g., A/B tests), with an understanding of how to reduce bias in experimental design.
Strong attention to detail and a high bar for quality, with a proven ability to spot potential defects before launch.
Excellent written communication skills for documentation, solution design, and stakeholder updates.
Clear verbal communication skills, comfortable working with globally distributed teams.
Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in agile environments (1+ years on agile or scrum teams).
Certifications in one or more messaging/marketing automation platforms (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze, Adobe Experience Manager).
Working knowledge of SQL for querying and basic analysis.
Fluency in additional languages beyond English.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in a technology, business, or quantitative field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
