Job Description SUMMARY:
The Director of Development leads the strategy and execution of individual and corporate fundraising to grow private revenue that supports long-term operations of CIS-SP. This role manages a portfolio of major and mid-level donors, expands corporate partnerships, builds donor pipelines, manages CRM systems, and works closely with the Chief Growth Officer, who oversees top-tier donor and board member fundraising.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Major & Mid-Level Gift Strategy and Solicitation
Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to grow individual giving.
Manage and actively solicit a portfolio of major and mid-level donors.
Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospects.
Support the CGO in preparing for high-level donor engagements as needed.
Establish clear revenue goals for individual and corporate giving and maintain strong donor pipelines.
Build structured sponsorship pipelines that convert event sponsors into ongoing partners.
Lead effective CRM utilization, ensuring accurate tracking, segmentation, and portfolio management.
Provide regular reporting to the CGO on progress toward revenue goals.
Donor Experience & Stewardship Strategy
Quickly learn existing donor relationships to deepen and grow in financial and volunteer impact.
Design and implement a comprehensive stewardship strategy with clear stewardship standards and timelines across all giving levels.
Partner with the Development & Community Engagement Manager to execute communications, impact reporting, sponsorship fulfillment, and recognition activities.
Engagement & Advocacy
Represent and advocate for CIS across the region to strengthen community relationships and increase visibility.
Engage volunteers, partners, and prospective supporters at both the site and organizational level.
Leverage community presence to advance donor cultivation and partnership development.
Support sponsorship sales and pipeline development tied to events.
Collaborate with the Development & Community Engagement Manager for event execution and fulfillment and post-event follow-up.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree plus minimum of three years related experience in fundraising or sales.
Strong relationship-building and customer service skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience managing and soliciting a donor portfolio.
Experience with CRMs, email marketing platforms, event management platforms preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong initiative, sound judgment, and exceptional organizational skills in a goal-driven environment.
Commitment to advancing student success through integrated, community support systems that remove barriers to learning and strengthen school-based partnerships.
TRAVEL
– Traveling regionally and state-wide may be required.
