Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Transportation & Trade Compliance Specialist to join the Audio Video Division in Minnesota.
This role is primarily responsible for ensuring global trade compliance across Legrand AV’s international supply chain. The position focuses on import/export regulatory requirements, product classification, documentation governance, broker oversight, and global customs adherence. The Specialist drives compliance excellence by developing standards, managing compliance programs, and partnering with global business units, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies.
While transportation knowledge is beneficial to support operational alignment, the core of this role is global trade compliance leadership, risk mitigation, and regulatory integrity across multiple countries and regions.
What Will You Do? Global Trade Compliance
Oversee and maintain compliance of all import and export activities, ensuring adherence to global customs regulations including US CBP, Census Bureau, and other international governmental bodies.
Manage and validate required import/export documentation and records in accordance with global regulatory requirements.
Own and maintain item-level HTS, Schedule B, and ECCN product classifications, coordinating binding rulings and supporting international classification needs.
Lead the response process for government or customs inquiries, coordinating with business units to gather accurate supporting data.
Support and develop global import/export procedures, internal controls, and compliance frameworks, ensuring process consistency across regions.
Prepare and manage trade agreement qualification documentation (USMCA, others as required) and verify eligibility through product origin and cost analysis.
Assist in maintaining Legrand AV’s C-TPAT program, including documentation, audits, training, and continuous improvement activities.
Broker & Partner Oversight
Act as the primary liaison with customs brokers and global trade partners, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance in all submissions.
Oversee global freight forwarders and import/export partners to ensure operational alignment with compliance expectations.
Compliance Training & Guidance
Provide technical guidance to internal teams on global customs regulations, trade processes, classification, and documentation requirements.
Develop and deliver training on trade compliance standards, country-specific requirements, and internal procedures.
Transport Management
Serve as escalation point for domestic and international logistics issues when compliance intersects with transportation processes.
Support transportation bids and carrier evaluations from a compliance and data accuracy standpoint.
Ensure accurate data flow and collaboration with carriers, brokers, and cross-functional teams to support compliant global shipment execution.
Digital Compliance & Analytics
Lead digital initiatives that enhance compliance visibility, automate reporting workflows, and improve global trade data accuracy.
Build dashboards and analytics used to monitor compliance metrics, customs cycle times, and risk indicators.
Other:
Take an active role in initiating and assisting with the creation, development, documentation and implementation of logistics-related processes and procedures, including correcting deficiencies, improving reliability or increasing efficiency
Drive Efficiency in trade compliance, transport and suggest cost savings initiatives and opportunities,
Assist in the supplier expectations and support the business units to ensure supplier’s conformity
Understand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries in the workplace. Cooperate in Safety Programs, initiatives, and investigations

Qualifications Required Skills: Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Strong digital acumen with demonstrated ability to build dashboards and automate reporting
Strong command of Excel, databases, and data transformation tools
Solid understanding of global transportation (parcel, LTL, TL, air, ocean)
Understanding of CBP regulations, HTS classification, and import/export processes
Analytical mindset with ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
Strong communication skills with the ability to present findings to leadership
High attention to detail, professionalism, and ability to prioritize in a fast‑paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced proficiency in Power BI development—data modeling, automation
Working knowledge of SAP, TMS platforms, and freight audit systems
Experience building KPI dashboards for supply chain or transportation
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, International Business, Trade Compliance, Data Analytics, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of professional experience specifically in global trade compliance, customs operations, or international regulatory management.
Equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
