Hybrid - this role will require you to work 3 days a week onsite in Warren, MI
Role Overview The Talent Events Specialist oversees the coordination, logistics, results and strategies of conferences and events to drive awareness, engagement and attraction of top talent within critical talent pools. This position enables events across our experienced and early career talent pipelines who are engaged with General Motors to strengthen our positioning as a global employer of choice.
Responsibilities
Acts as a talent events project manager leading the strategy, activation, and evaluation for conferences, events, and community partnership activations associated with manufacturing and other key talent pools
Partners with vendors associated with event activation fulfillment, including event logistics, assets/inventory, swag, and other resources to create compelling event experiences
Works in close partnership with GTA delivery leads, marketing, communications, and business partners to ensure strategies are being developed and performed to drive engagement and attraction of key talent audiences through events and conferences
Manages events and conference budget including forecast and reviewing historical trends to positively influence future event strategies
Serves as a point of contact for manufacturing talent event requests and needs, and responds to needs in a timely manner
Analyzes, monitors, and reports on actionable event insights and trends to assess performance and engagement for event and conference talent attraction results
Works in close partnership with GM’s global talent brand team to utilize compelling branding and interactive experiences at events attract top, diverse talent and build positive employer brand reputation
Research and presents new opportunities and trends to optimize event performance for key talent audiences
Partners with employee engagement and volunteerism teams to plan, execute, and evaluate talent events associated with community and workforce development partnerships for talent attraction and hiring needs
Shares current and emerging opportunities, trends, and best practices associated with events and conferences
Contributes to GTA’s event calendar to offer real-time management of active and future events across talent acquisition, marketing and communications, and within key business functions
Utilizes CRM and other technologies to create mechanisms to capture talent at events and drive pre-event and post-event engagement to maximize prospective talent experience from event activations
Works in close partnership with talent marketing, EEV and ERG leaders to reach and engage with diverse talent
Develops and deliver compelling campaigns to re-engage previous event leads for talent pipelining
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in marketing, recruitment event planning or recruiting related field
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience
Experience with event planning logistics and vendor relationship management
Strong skills in maintaining budget
Preferred experience working with job boards to drive interest to key events
Preferred experience working in events and conferences in the tech space to attract talent
Experience with social/digital media programs, including social amplification platforms, content management systems (CMS) or candidate relationship management (CRM)
Strong social and communications skills (verbal and written) with excellent organizational skills, time management and priority setting
