
We are seeking a
Civil Estimator
to join the team. This role is ideal for an experienced estimator who thrives on complex infrastructure projects and wants to play a strategic role in bidding, risk evaluation, and preconstruction planning across projects ranging from mid‑sized to large‑scale DOT work.
What You'll Do as the Civil Estimator:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil, infrastructure, and site development projects
Perform comprehensive quantity takeoffs including grading, utilities, roadwork, and earthwork
Develop pricing from conceptual budgeting through final bid submission
Estimate self‑performed work including labor, equipment, and materials
Analyze plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports to define scope and cost drivers
Manage the full bid lifecycle including subcontractor outreach, leveling, and final proposal assembly
Evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals for scope coverage and competitiveness
Identify constructability risks and recommend value‑engineering solutions
Support scheduling efforts and assist with preconstruction planning
Maintain accurate cost databases and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes
Must‑Haves as the Civil Estimator:
Proven estimating experience within heavy civil, DOT, highway, or sitework construction
Strong knowledge of underground utilities, mass grading, roadwork, and public infrastructure
Experience preparing estimates across multiple design phases
Track record of bidding projects ranging from approximately $500K to $50M+
Ability to assess risk, pricing strategy, and competitive positioning
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Experience using estimating and takeoff software tools
Established relationships within the subcontractor and vendor community
Nice‑to‑Haves as the Civil Estimator:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
Experience with DOT or heavy highway general contractors
Familiarity with digital takeoff platforms such as Agtek‑style software
Leadership experience or interest in mentoring junior estimators
