Baytown client is looking for a direct hire Strategic Sourcing /Procurement Manager
The Director is responsible for leading all direct, indirect, and CAPEX procurement activities within a manufacturing/industrial environment. This role develops and executes strategic sourcing initiatives to drive cost savings, ensure supply continuity, mitigate risk, and optimize working capital.
Key responsibilities include leading steel and direct material procurement (where applicable), MRO and materials management oversight, supplier negotiations, contract management, pricing strategy, and KPI performance management. The role also oversees reporting of savings, cost avoidance, and supply risk metrics.
The Director will manage a team of buyers and purchasing leadership, partnering cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Executive Leadership to support production and business objectives.
Qualifications:
10+ years of progressive supply chain/purchasing leadership experience
Extensive experience in direct, indirect, and CAPEX procurement within manufacturing, industrial, or O&G environments
Strong MRO, inventory management, and strategic sourcing expertise
Bachelor’s degree required (Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or related)
Preferred:
Experience in steel procurement
MBA and/or professional certifications (CSCP, CPSM)
SAP ERP/MRP experience
