W. W. Norton & Company, Inc., seeks an exceptional candidate with three to four years of book publicity experience to spearhead campaigns for a range of adult trade titles, primarily in the realms of current affairs/politics, history, science/technology, business/economics, personal finance, food, and fiction. The ideal candidate will demonstrate superior written and verbal communication skills, a track record of impressive results, an aptitude for quick, thorough, and effective research, a demonstrated interest in subject areas noted above, and an ability to juggle projects simultaneously with an attention to detail. This position reports to our Chief Communications Officer.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Creating and executing strategic plans and pitches
  • Developing effective outreach and follow-up to print, online, broadcast, podcast, influencer, and other media
  • Arranging and promoting author events
  • Collaborating daily with publicity, marketing, editorial, and other colleagues
  • Placing op-eds, essays, and excepts
  • Other departmental responsibilities

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Employment eligibility to work with W.W. Norton & Company in the US
  • Availability to work full business hours.
  • Ability to work from Norton’s New York City headquarters.
  • 3-4 years of book publicity experience

Compensation and Benefits*

Currently available benefits include:

  • Annual compensation for this position is $60,000-$70,000. All salaries and salary ranges posted by Norton may vary depending on experience, skills, location, and like considerations.
