
Associate Designer Position

The Associate Designer for Activewear will report to Design Director and work on entire product life cycle including trend research, inspiration, sketches, mock-ups, details and fit.
Responsibilities
Assist in trend, color, and print research for each season
Create technical sketches and tech packs for development
Create color CADs for presentations
Communicate with overseas factories
Source incoming swatches/trims from the factories for seasonal fabric development
Review incoming samples to present at customer meetings; making sure submits are matching to standard and licensing agreement
Maintain an organized design space (samples, files, visual CADs etc.) so that information is readily accessible to teammates
Assist in organizing samples in design showroom
Prepare color cards for internal and external use
Assist in preparing pitch decks and samples for client presentations as needed
Requirements
Knowledgeable about fabric and garment construction
Working knowledge of activewear market landscape
Working knowledge of overseas product development process
Strong communication skills to collaborate and communicate internally with cross-functional teams: Design, Sales, Production, & Overseas.
Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational skills
Self‑sufficient and able to work independently or as part of a group
Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop proficiency
Degree in fashion/apparel focus OR comparable knowledge/experience (2+ years)
Additional Information
This is a full‑time opportunity
The position will be based in New York City - Midtown Manhattan
Hybrid – this position allows for one day a week of remote work (dependent on the needs of the week)
