Sr. Apparel Designer (Knits)

The Senior Designer focusing on Knitwear will work closely with design leadership to develop seasonal knitwear collections that are trend-aware, commercially minded, and aligned with overall brand direction.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to seasonal creative direction through research, sketching, and concept development for knitwear.
Drive styles from concept through development and final handoff, ensuring design intent is maintained throughout the process.
Provide guidance and feedback to junior design team members as needed.
Partner with internal teams to align product with business needs, calendar milestones, and production realities.
Collaborate with technical partners to achieve desired fit, construction, and quality.
Support yarn, fabric, and technique exploration for upcoming seasons.
Participate in vendor communication and review of developments and samples.
Lead or support fittings to ensure product reflects the design vision.
Stay current on market, trend, and competitive activity relevant to knitwear.
Skills & Experience
Solid experience in fashion design with a focus on knitwear.
Strong proficiency in standard design software and digital sketching tools.
Understanding of knitwear construction, yarns, gauges, and finishing.
Experience working with mills, vendors, or external partners is preferred.
Refined design eye with awareness of contemporary and elevated markets.
Confident communicator, able to present ideas and collaborate across teams.
Organized and detail-focused, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Comfortable working both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
Proactive, solutions-oriented approach to design and day-to-day challenges.
