
Tax Preparer

Position Overview
The Tax Preparer plays a key role in supporting clients through the tax preparation process from information gathering through final return presentation. This position requires strong technical knowledge, organizational discipline, and excellent communication skills to manage multiple returns simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the direct point of contact for assigned clients.
Manage a caseload that may exceed 100 returns during peak season.
Review prior-year tax returns and financial documentation to identify missing or incomplete information.
Gather and organize client documentation to prepare accurate tax returns.
Prepare individual and business tax returns (1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065) using Lacerte tax software.
Calculate taxes owed or refunds due and consult tax law publications as needed for unique or complex situations.
Submit completed returns to supervising accountant for review.
Present finalized returns to clients and address client questions professionally.
Maintain organized and compliant client files.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience preparing individual and business tax returns.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and Adobe Acrobat.
Experience with Lacerte tax software preferred.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and high-volume workflow.
Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary range: $80,000 – $95,000 (based on experience)
