MEP Designer About the Role We are seeking a skilled MEP Designer with strong experience in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD to support the planning, design, and coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for infrastructure and building-related projects. This position will collaborate closely with MEP engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary design teams and will be responsible for developing and producing accurate, constructible, and code-compliant design documents. The ideal candidate will have experience with producing mechanical, electrical and plumbing plans, and have an interest in developing a concentration in HVAC design.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and prepare MEP design drawings and models using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.

Assist in the design and layout of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in coordination with civil, structural, and architectural disciplines.

Create construction documents, details, sections, schedules, and quantities.

Collaborate closely with the CAD department, follow company CAD standards, maintain drawing standards, file organization, and project documentation in accordance with company and client requirements.

Apply applicable codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, IPC, IMC, local jurisdictional requirements).

Support engineers with calculations, system layouts, and design revisions.

Assist in HVAC load calculations using load calculation software.

Assist in the selection of HVAC equipment-based design criteria provided.

Respond to review comments and incorporate revisions efficiently.

Participate in design coordination meetings and provide technical input as needed.

Required Qualifications

Associate’s degree or higher in Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Minimum of 3 years of experience as an MEP Designer or similar role.

Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD

Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of MEP systems and their integration with structures and processes in those structures.

Experience producing construction-ready drawings and BIM models.

Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and best practices.

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a multidisciplinary engineering or consulting environment.

Knowledge of BIM coordination tools (e.g., Navisworks).

Experience with infrastructure, utility, transportation, or industrial projects.

Understanding of permitting and agency submittal processes.

EIT certification or progress toward professional licensure or certification
