This role involves hiring, training, motivating, and mentoring sales staff while closely monitoring their performance to ensure team success. The Sales Manager will strategically direct sales staffing and training initiatives to support the growth and effective management of sales programs. Key responsibilities include setting clear annual and monthly targets for unit sales, gross profits, expenses, and operating income. The manager will continuously evaluate salesperson productivity, oversee inventory acquisition of new and used vehicles, and manage factory-sponsored programs. Additionally, the Sales Manager will enhance the showroom by effectively displaying, merchandising, and promoting both new and pre-owned vehicles. By analyzing market trends and reviewing sales reports, the Sales Manager identifies customer needs and sales potential, creating targeted sales campaigns that align with the dealership’s goals. Acting as a crucial liaison between the sales department and other areas within the dealership, the manager ensures smooth collaboration and communication. Financial oversight is also central to this role, requiring careful analysis and control of expenditures to meet budgetary guidelines. The Sales Manager organizes and plans New Owner Clinics as part of the post-sale customer experience and maintains a professional appearance at all times. Attendance at management meetings and execution of other assigned duties are also expected. Responsibilities
Recruit, train, motivate, counsel, and evaluate the performance of all sales staff to foster a high-achieving team. Strategically manage sales staffing and training to enhance the development and control of sales initiatives. Set and monitor annual and monthly sales targets, gross profit margins, expenses, and operating profit goals. Track and assess salesperson productivity and sales effectiveness regularly. Manage the ordering and acquisition of new and used vehicle inventory to meet customer demand. Oversee the administration and compliance of factory-sponsored incentive and support programs. Ensure effective merchandising, display, and promotion of new and used vehicles within the showroom. Review comprehensive market analyses and sales reports to gauge customer needs and market potential, designing sales campaigns accordingly. Serve as a key liaison between the sales department and other dealership divisions to promote alignment and efficiency. Analyze and control expenditures to ensure adherence to budgetary requirements. Coordinate and schedule New Owner Clinics as part of customer retention and satisfaction efforts following vehicle delivery. Maintain a professional and polished appearance consistent with the company’s standards. Represent the sales department by attending management meetings as requested. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support dealership operations. Requirements
At least 2 years previous experience Knowledge and use of DMS Systems and CRM Knowledge of dealership finance and insurance procedures Professional personal appearance & excellent communication skills.
