CABINET MAKER/BENCH CARPENTER
REPORTS TO: Shop Manager

JOB PURPOSE The Cabinet Maker/Bench Carpenters at D&P are part of a team of craftsmen fabricating museum exhibits.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Work with D&P team members to create cabinets and/or benches which meet the specific requirements of the museum exhibit
Work in groups and translate assignments received in writing with detailed drawings into a physical product
Work quickly and efficiently to meet the high quality demanded by customers and teams
Qualifications Required:
Five (5) years’ experience in a shop environment using typical power equipment, tools and methods
Three (3) or more years of current experiences as a journeyman level cabinet maker and/or exhibit fabricator
Possession of personal hand tools
Ability to efficiently and accurately shape and assemble components into exhibits from information contained in the shop drawings, as well as personal experience
Ability to interpret and work from sketches and detailed drawings
Ability to work both quickly and efficiently, while maintaining high standards of quality
Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with the Shop Manager and other team members
Team player mentality
Preferred:
Expertise in metal fabrication, acrylic fabrication, solid surface fabrication, and/or field experience, including installations
Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade with strict adherence to safety measures
High School Diploma or GED
Required experience:
Cabinet Making: 3 years
Shop Environment (using typical power equipment, tools and methods): 5 years
