Community Engagement Strategy & Research Intern
Self-Help is seeking an intern to assist in building relationships and coalitions with mission-aligned organizations and fostering a culture of service within the organization.
Our work focuses on serving members and potential members, partnering with small businesses and nonprofits, and advancing clean energy finance, wealth building, affordable housing, social drivers of health, and economic mobility—with a strong emphasis on growing deposit allies and impact capital.
Responsibilities
Assist in developing tools to support community engagement efforts
Conduct research to inform community outreach initiatives
Engage with the community to raise awareness about programs, services, and opportunities that align with organizational goals
Help implement outreach projects to strengthen community relationships
Qualifications
Undergraduate or graduate students, recent graduates welcome to apply
Demonstrate a sincere interest in non-profit work, education, advocacy, or social work
Excellent interpersonal skills
Proficient written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
An enthusiasm for learning
Strong attention to detail
Hourly Internship pay starting at $25 an hour in Washington, DC
