
Community Engagement & Social Media Coordinator

Position Summary
The Community Engagement & Social Media Coordinator strengthens BLEHEALTH’s digital presence, community visibility, and brand reputation. This position manages all social media platforms, supports digital marketing initiatives, and serves as the primary representative for community events, outreach activities, and external partnerships. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, and passionate about connecting with the community while elevating BLEHEALTH’s mission and services.
Key Responsibilities Social Media & Digital Presence
Manage, build, grow, and/or create BLEHEALTH’s social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube).
Establish connections with TV, radio, and other advertising outlets to expand BLEHEALTH’s visibility.
Create, schedule, and publish engaging content aligned with organizational goals.
Strengthen BLEHEALTH’s digital footprint through consistent branding, storytelling, and analytics-driven strategy.
Monitor engagement, respond to comments/messages, and track performance metrics.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate representation of programs, services, and updates.
Increase positive engagement on platforms such as Glassdoor and Indeed.
Record member testimonials (with consent) and publish approved content.
Track and report all social media activity.
Maintain a tracking spreadsheet and provide regular reports to the Executive Team.
Community Engagement & Outreach
Serve as BLEHEALTH’s primary representative at community events, health fairs, partner meetings, and outreach activities.
Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, local agencies, and event hosts.
Expand BLEHEALTH’s presence beyond local counties, including outreach in Sacramento, Fresno, and surrounding regions.
Coordinate BLEHEALTH’s presence at external events, including logistics, materials, and staffing.
Support partnership development to expand BLEHEALTH’s visibility and community impact.
Event Coordination
Work closely with the HR Manager, Director of Operations and Business Development to plan, prepare, and execute outreach events and community engagement activities.
Transport and set up outreach materials, signage, and equipment.
Provide post-event reporting, metrics, and recommendations for improvement.
Internal Collaboration
Align messaging, branding, and outreach priorities with the HR Manager, Director of Operations, and Business Development.
Support internal communications, staff engagement initiatives, and organizational announcements.
Assist with marketing materials, flyers, newsletters, and digital campaigns.
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of experience in public relations, community outreach, communications, marketing, or related fields.
Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms for a business or organization (required).
Strong understanding of community health, social services, or healthcare environments preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking engagement, outreach metrics, and reporting.
Ability to represent BLEHEALTH professionally in public settings.
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel to community events.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Digital Media, Community Health, or related field.
Experience working with Medi-Cal populations, community-based organizations, or healthcare programs.
Graphic design or video editing skills (Canva, Adobe, CapCut) a plus.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to safely navigate indoor/outdoor community environments.
Ability to lift and transport outreach materials up to 35 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, and engage with the public for extended periods.
Ability to clearly understand and communicate written and verbal information.
