Job Overview
American Red Cross is seeking a Remote Full‑Time Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Specialist. The role can be performed from any location within the United States, but applicants must be available during Eastern Standard Time. Salary range for this position is $68,472‑$91,000.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and report on website traffic and conversions to track the effectiveness of SEO strategies.
Develop daily, weekly, and monthly SEO reports that include detailed insights on recent campaigns and actionable next steps tied to business objectives.
Produce comprehensive technical SEO analyses of our site and develop actionable optimization roadmaps for the development team.
Monitor Google Shopping and Bing Shopping data feeds and identify optimization opportunities.
Maintain and optimize local SEO listings on Google, Bing/Yahoo, and Yelp.
Conduct keyword research, perform competitive analysis, technical site audits, and apply SEO best practices to improve rankings.
Assist with on‑page and off‑page SEO strategies to increase organic traffic and improve the search engine visibility of Red Cross Training Services.
Optimize existing website content for search engines, including title tags, meta descriptions, and headers.
Improve the visibility of existing products on Red Cross Store (redcross.com/store).
Collaborate with content writers to develop SEO‑friendly content that aligns with target keywords and audience intent.
Standard schedule: Monday – Friday, Eastern Standard Time – Standard business hours.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Familiarity with and experience using SEO tools (e.g., Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, Google Ads, SEMrush, Botify, Google Trends).
High‑level proficiency in Google Analytics, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Strong track record of improving organic search rankings.
Strong knowledge of SEO principles, algorithms, and best practices.
Continually current on latest trends and best practices in SEO and SEM.
Understanding of web‑design languages including HTML.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, analytical and problem‑solving skills, and ability to work with digital content management systems.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills required.
Knowledge of Red Cross structure and operations preferred.
Travel may be required.
Essential Functions / Physical Requirements Must be a good verbal and written communicator, have very good home‑based internet connectivity, and possess ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations if required. Role may involve standing, walking, and manipulation (lifting or carrying) light to medium weights of up to 20 pounds. Requires good hand‑eye coordination, dexterity, visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read technical information. Overall mobility is essential; may include sitting for long periods, driving a vehicle, and working under challenging conditions.
