Job Title: Account Reconciliation Specialist Part-Time position: 8-10 hours a week, on-site Position Summary The Retail Account Reconciliation Specialist is responsible for reconciling major retail customer accounts to ensure accuracy, timely resolution of discrepancies, and overall account health. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and advanced Excel proficiency. The ideal candidate will proactively investigate variances, issue credits as needed, and work with the customer service team to resolve overages, shortages and disputes.
Key Responsibilities
Reconcile high-volume retail accounts by reviewing and matching debits, credits and deductions
Research and resolve discrepancies including overages, shortages and chargebacks
Issue credits in accordance with company policies and approval guidelines
Prepare and submit disputes to customers for invalid deductions or discrepancies
Maintain accurate documentation of account activity and dispute status
Monitor aging reports to ensure accounts remain current and reconciled
Collaborate with customer service to gather supporting documentation
Qualifications
Strong understanding of debits, credits, chargebacks, and deductions
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
