About the role:

The PR Manager will own client programs end-to-end—from strategy and planning through execution and reporting—while managing junior talent and serving as a trusted daily partner to clients. The ideal candidate is both a sharp strategist and an active doer, with strong media relationships and a deep understanding of cultural trends and brand storytelling.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Team Management

  • Oversee daily PR operations across multiple fashion, beauty, wellness, and lifestyle accounts, ensuring work is timely, polished, and on-brand.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop junior team members, providing clear direction, constructive feedback, and growth-minded coaching.
  • Implement efficient workflows and internal communication practices to keep projects organized and moving forward smoothly.
  • Develop annual and seasonal PR and communications strategies aligned with client business objectives.
  • Translate client goals into actionable PR plans, calendars, milestones, and campaign roadmaps.
  • Serve as a proactive, strategic partner—anticipating client needs, identifying opportunities, and advising on market shifts.

Editorial & Media Relations

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key editors, writers, and journalists across print, digital, social, and broadcast.
  • Shape editorial strategies that generate meaningful, on-message coverage and storytelling.
  • Build and refine targeted media lists tailored to each client’s sector, audience, and campaign objectives.
  • Conceptualize, write, and distribute compelling pitches around launches, trends, thought leadership, and cultural moments.
  • Proactively pitch to a wide range of outlets, including digital publications, newsletters, podcasts, and niche platforms.
  • Coordinate interviews, photo shoots, desk-sides, and other media interactions, ensuring thorough preparation and alignment with key messaging.

Influencer Partnerships & Integration

  • Develop influencer and talent strategies spanning macro, micro, niche, and celebrity creators, across both paid and earned initiatives.
  • Oversee influencer identification, outreach, negotiation, coordination, and performance recap.
  • Ensure influencer programs support broader brand initiatives, launches, and conversion or awareness goals.

Gifting & Seeding Programs

  • Design and manage strategic product gifting and seeding campaigns to spark organic coverage and social content.
  • Align seeding targets and tactics with audience priorities, brand positioning, and key narratives.
  • Track engagement and outcomes, drawing insights on coverage, sentiment, and impact.

Event Planning & Activations

  • Lead planning and execution of press previews, launch events, experiential activations, and intimate editor/influencer touchpoints.
  • Manage event timelines, budgets, guest lists, run-of-show, and vendor relationships.
  • Identify and secure strategic partnerships with complementary brands, venues, and collaborators to enhance visibility and reach.

Content Development

  • Draft and refine press releases, media alerts, bios, fact sheets, Q&As, and briefing documents.
  • Produce high-quality internal materials, including strategies, agendas, recap reports, and post-campaign analyses.
  • Maintain consistency with each client’s voice, visual identity, and overarching brand strategy across all materials.

Qualifications

  • 4–6+ years of public relations experience, ideally within an agency and with fashion, beauty, wellness, or consumer lifestyle clients.
  • Demonstrated success securing impactful media coverage and managing influencer programs end-to-end.
  • Established relationships with relevant editors, journalists, and digital creators.
  • Experience managing and mentoring junior staff, with proven ability to lead multi-faceted projects.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail and narrative nuance.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting with multiple concurrent deadlines and priorities.
  • Strategic, solutions-oriented mindset paired with a collaborative, positive working style.
