Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa – Head Golf Professional

Job Overview The Head Golf Professional oversees the daily golf operations of the Golf Shop, outside services and tournament functions. Demonstrate excellent human and public relations skills and act on behalf of the Director of Golf when absent.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Director of Golf in recruitment, hiring, training and supervision of all golf staff.

Maintain a neat and orderly office area and surrounding work area.

Control and manage play: ensure guest check‑in and fee collection in coordination with the starter.

Assist the Director of Golf in preparing budgets, forecasting and reviewing golf revenues and expenses weekly, monthly, and annually.

Assist in buying apparel, equipment and accessories. Conduct periodic checks to maintain adequate merchandise inventories.

Assist the Visual Stylist on displays and presentation of the pro shop.

Advise the Director of Golf of course conditions; enforce all rules and regulations governing golf course usage.

Supervise and approve weekly payroll, timesheets, purchase orders and invoices.

Assist in the publication of newsletters and informational and promotional materials.

Represent Hyatt in a professional and courteous manner at all times.

Implement policies and procedures; schedule staff meetings.

Oversee rental and maintenance of golf carts; track and verify all players and guests, golf carts, club care, lockers, handicap fees and other charges.

Oversee administration of the handicap program.

Compile market competition information for comparison studies.

Maintain close working relationship with the Director of Golf, Course Superintendent and other department heads.

Assist in marketing and promotion of new memberships and play.

Oversee club repair business.

Supervise Tournament Coordinator – First Assistant from planning phases through tournament day and follow‑up.

Review tee sheets daily to ensure complete time utilization and proper staffing coverage.

Use weekly scheduling of golf employees; act on behalf of the Director of Golf in his or her absence.

Maintain cleanliness of hotel and golf area, including course, staging area, cart barn, pro shop and parking lot.

Toptracer & Instruction

Provide individual and group golf instruction utilizing Toptracer technology.

Analyze swing data and performance metrics to deliver clear, actionable coaching.

Demonstrate proper golf techniques, drills and Toptracer gameplay features.

Create a positive, encouraging learning environment for players of all ages and abilities.

Promote lesson programs, clinics and Toptracer instructional offerings.

Ensure all safety guidelines are followed during instruction and practice sessions.

Maintain clean, organized instructional spaces and equipment.

Assist guests in understanding Toptracer practice modes and gameplay features.

Collaborate with Golf Operations and Toptracer teams to enhance programming and guest engagement.

Qualifications

Service‑oriented with strong task management and organizational skills.

Previous Head Golf Professional experience preferred.

Toptracer experience preferred.

Goal‑oriented ideas to motivate staff members.

Outgoing personality; genuine interest in golfers and their pursuit of the game.

Computer and accounting skills; high degree of administrative ability for problem solving and decision making.
