Community Outreach | Advocacy | Nonprofit | Relationship Building The Community Relations Manager serves as an ambassador for our organization, connecting with schools, businesses, civic groups, and community leaders while helping elevate advocacy efforts that impact homeless services and policy solutions.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys relationship-building, public speaking, and community outreach and wants to play a direct role in increasing awareness, volunteers, and community support for mission-driven work. Perfect for someone early in their career who has experience engaging the community, advocating for change, and building relationships across diverse groups!

Compensation:

From $60,000 annually

Essential Functions:

Advocacy & Policy Engagement: Support advocacy efforts related to homeless services and public policy; Help educate community stakeholders about legislation and policies impacting homelessness; Participate in community conversations and initiatives that support equitable solutions

Relationship Building & Partnerships: Build and maintain partnerships with schools, businesses, faith communities, and local organizations; Cultivate community support through volunteer engagement and donor relationship development; Strengthen community awareness and engagement with the organization’s mission

Community Engagement & Mission Promotion: Serve as a public-facing ambassador for the organization; Promote volunteer opportunities, fundraising efforts, and community involvement; Share the impact of our work and help connect people to ways they can contribute; Interface with media contacts including television, radio and other print media

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

At least one year of experience in community outreach, advocacy, nonprofit engagement, community organizing, or relationship building

Experience working with community groups, schools, businesses, or nonprofit organizations

Aptitude in advocacy, policy issues, and social impact

Strong communication and public speaking skills

Demonstrated ability to build relationships and engage diverse audiences

Preferred:

Experience in nonprofit organizations, social services, community engagement, or advocacy initiatives

Familiarity with homeless services, housing issues, or community-based programs

Expected Hours of Work:

Regular Full-Time classification. General business hours, Monday through Friday, including some evenings, weekends and holidays. Hours and days may vary based on the needs of the organization.
