This is an ideal position for a motivated, organized, detailed, and hard-working individual. The Legal Assistant must demonstrate that they possess the ability to meet deadlines, be effective, and efficient. Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Creole is a plus.
Responsibilities
Provide clear and concise communication to a multitude of parties, including the clients, attorneys, medical providers, and insurance companies.
Maintain attorneys’ calendars.
Ensure deadlines are met.
Schedule and confirm appointments, record statements, IMEs, and EUOs.
Follow up and request all documents regarding the client’s cases, including but not limited to insurance information, police reports, medical records, and bills.
Provide support to the case manager and attorney while managing a caseload.
Prepare demands and draft legal documents.
Qualifications
The Legal Assistant position is an entry-level position, and legal experience is not required.
Minimum of one year of customer service or office work experience, or demonstrated interest in the law.
The Legal Assistant must have a high school degree.
Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must have a positive attitude and be computer savvy.
Strong multi-tasking ability.
Must be innovative, a self-starter, and goal-oriented.
Candidate should be able to manage deadlines; have the ability to follow up and be detail-oriented.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment as part of a team.
Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Creole is a plus.
Compensation $19 - $20 hourly
